Project Location: Wuhan, Hubei
Project Name: Wuhan JD MALL Commercial Art Installation
Project Area: 60,000㎡
Art Installation Style: Technology / Interactive / Cyberpunk / Art
With the core theme of Future City · Cyberpunk Trend Shopping , this installation closely aligns with JD.com’s technological DNA and Wuhan’s youth consumption trends, aiming to create an immersive, highly interactive, and highly shareable commercial space aesthetic system. The goal is to integrate traffic generation, social check-ins, and conversion into a seamless experience.
I. Core Creative Positioning
Guided by technology as the backbone, interaction as the pulse, cyberpunk as the form, and art as the soul, the 60,000㎡ space is divided into four major zones: Main Entrance, Central Atrium, Themed Floors, and Connecting Corridors. Using light, shadow, installations, digital media, and structural art, the design builds JD MALL’s exclusive aesthetic identity — digitizing online tech, transforming consumption into an experiential journey, and visualizing space with trend-forward aesthetics — catering to the full range of digital devices, home appliances, home furnishings, trendy toys, and lifestyle services.
II. Spatial Creativity \& Highlight Designs
Entrance Image – Cyberpunk Portal Welcome
Combining metal trusses, neon light strips, and transparent screens, the futuristic gateway features dynamic data flows and cycling brand visuals. Sensor-activated lighting creates a powerful sense of arrival, instantly communicating the tech-driven trendy shopping experience.
Central Atrium – Immersive Art \& Tech Focal Point
A naked-eye 3D mechanical split screen and a suspended light installation, enhanced with data streams and aurora effects, evoke a cyberpunk cityscape. An interactive art sculpture in the center responds to motion with light changes and AR virtual photo opportunities, becoming the venue’s main check-in spot and driving social media engagement.
* Themed Floors – Zoned Aesthetics
- Digital \& Gaming Zone: Mechanical lines, cool blue-purple lighting, pixel art — creating an energetic, cyber-gaming atmosphere.
- Smart Appliance Zone: Minimalist tech style with smart living scenario installations highlighting quality.
- Lifestyle \& Home Zone: Warm-toned art installations balancing technology and comfort.
Each floor features themed photo spots and interactive sensor-lit corridors, enhancing flow and increasing dwell time.
Node Atmosphere – Artistic Detailing
- Connecting corridors use linear lights, mirrors, and light-emitting characters to create a cyberpunk street feel.
- Rest areas combine artistic installations with smart interactions for both aesthetics and functionality.
- Elevator halls feature pixelated visual designs, reinforcing stylistic consistency throughout.
III. Product \& Functional Advantages
* Materials \& Craftsmanship: Extensive use of aluminum alloy trusses, acrylic, metal, and translucent materials — lightweight, sturdy, and easy to assemble/disassemble, suitable for frequent mall updates.
* Interactive Experience: Lightweight technologies such as motion sensing, AR, voice control, and dynamic screens lower the barrier to participation, enhancing fun and shareability.
* Brand Integration: Seamlessly incorporates brand visuals from JD MALL, Hisense, Honor, OPPO, etc., achieving a win-win between art installation and commercial promotion.
IV. Summary
Centered on technology + cyberpunk + art + interaction, this proposal aims to establish a new benchmark for trendy consumption in Wuhan.
